Cowboys sign RB Lache Seastrunk
They won't catch the headlines with this move, but the Dallas Cowboys added talent to their backfield on Monday when they announced the signing of running back Lache Seastrunk. A former sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Seastrunk has since played for the Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans. The Cowboys are hoping that they found the right fit for him based on his skill set and the Cowboys' blocking scheme.
Seastrunk was a dynamic player at the collegiate level in Baylor's unique spread offense. He racked up2,189 yards and had 18 touchdowns in just two seasons there. He will compete for a roster spot with Ryan Williams, Lance Dunbar and potentially Darren McFadden. Although that list cuts all the way up their depth chart at running back, none of the three names listed above are guaranteed a roster spot. All three carry very little guarnateed money, if any at all. The Cowboys' backfield is training camp battle in the truest sense of the word battle.
