Colts' Wayne: 'I was irrelevant' in loss

Indianapolis Colts receiver Reggie Wayne -- fuming after getting only 1 yard on one reception in Saturday's AFC wild-card playoff loss to the New York Jets -- said his taking the field was a waste of time because quarterback Peyton Manning would not throw it his way, the Indy Star reported Sunday.

Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis dominated Wayne in the Jets' 17-16 win, and did not allow the receiver any room.

Wayne, however, felt Manning was, in part, to blame because the quarterback only threw one pass in his direction.

"I shouldn't have even suited up," Wayne said. "I should have watched the game like everybody else. I was irrelevant," he said.

"I give everything I've got no matter what. Every day, I give it everything. And . . . one ball, that's all.

"It's bull. It's bull, man."

The five-time Pro Bowler had not finished with just one catch in a full game since September 2004.
