Colts S Adams nabs AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors

A two-interception game in the Colts' Thursday night win over the Texans last week helped Indianapolis safety Mike Adams earn AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 5.

Adams picked Ryan Mallett during Houston's first drive of the game and then intercepted Mallett's replacement, Brian Hoyer, late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

In addition to his two interceptions, the 34-year-old Adams had five tackles and two passes defended against Houston.

It's the first time Adams has won the award. He's the first Colt to win since linebacker Jonathan Newsome in Week 17 last season.
