Colts add veteran QB Josh Freeman
With just one healthy quarterback on the roster in Stephen Morris, the Indianapolis Colts added depth at the position with the signing of veteran Josh Freeman. The team announced the move on Tuesday.
The 17th overall selection in the 2009 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Freeman has played in 61 career games, including 60 starts. Matt Hasselbeck, who has started the last six game in place of Luck. suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder during Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins.
Fellow backup Charlie Whitehurst, who played in relief of Hasselbeck each of the last four weeks, suffered a season-ending hamstring injury against Miami.
Later in the day, the Colts added another veteran with signing of former Arizona Cardinas quarterback Ryan Lindley.
Also on Tuesday, the team promoted linebacker Amarlo Herrera from the practice squad on Tuesday, while placing fellow linebacker Josh McNary on injured reserve.
