Colts add OT Burton to practice squad
The Indianapolis Colts added offensive tackle Pierce Burton to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Burton has spent time on the practice squads of the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers this season. He originally signed as a a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings after going undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2014.
In college, Burton started 26 games at right tackle for the Rebels after beginning his collegiate career at San Jose State.
To make room for Burton, the Colts released fellow offensive tackle John Wetzel from the practice squad. Wetzel was signed by the team Nov. 24.
