Colin Kaepernick isn't voting in the election

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not voted, and will not vote, in the 2016 presidential election, he said Tuesday.

The 29-year-old has been staging a public protest since the preseason by kneeling during the national anthem, voicing concerns over racial inequality and police violence. It caught the eye of Republican nominee for president Donald Trump, who called the protest “a terrible thing.” The veteran signalcaller responded by saying that “America has never been great for people of color.”

At a recent rally, Trump also put some of the blame for the NFL’s declining ratings on Kaepernick’s shoulders.

While Kaepernick isn‘t voting or endorsing a candidate, several notable athletes have made their choices public.
