Claiborne, Forte sit out practice for Jets

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) New York Jets cornerback Morris Claiborne and running back Matt Forte were among a handful of players who sat out practice with injuries.

Claiborne has been dealing with a sprained right foot since late October and says Wednesday that his performance against Denver last Sunday was embarrassing. He says he was limping throughout, but assured coaches he was OK because he didn't want to come out.

Demaryius Thomas caught eight passes for 93 yards and a touchdown while being mostly defended by Claiborne in the Broncos' 23-0 victory.

Forte continues to deal with a sore knee, although he has played the past three games.

Also sitting out practice were: running back Elijah McGuire (ankle), right guard Brian Winters (abdomen, ankle), safety Rontez Miles (hamstring) and cornerback Rashard Robinson (personal reasons).

Long snapper Thomas Hennessy (head) and linebacker Bruce Carter (groin) were limited.
