Cincinnati Bengals: A.J. Green has woken up vs. Dolphins

After a sluggish game against the Denver Broncos last week, A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals has responded with a great start in Miami…

It’s been a solid start to the season for Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green statistically, but he had a rough go against the Denver Broncos. So far on Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins, he has rebounded in a big way.

Green had eight receptions for 77 yards in the entire game against the Denver Broncos, and also had a key drop late in the game on a third down. In the first quarter against the Dolphins, he had 77 yards and a touchdown on one drive.

A.J. Green is out there doing A.J. Green things…

He is making fantasy football owners absolutely giddy with 80 yards on five receptions right away in the first quarter, including a score where he made Tony Lippett of Miami look like a fool trying to make a tackle…

We all know Green is phenomenal, and even though he struggled against the Broncos, it’s not like he has had a ‘down’ start to this season. He’s sixth in the league with 295 receiving yards on 22 receptions, but he’s unquestionably been carrying the load for the Bengals offensively.

With Tyler Eifert out and both Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu off to ‘greener’ pastures, the burden has been much heavier on Green to be productive. That was evident as the Bengals struggled to do much of anything through the air against the Broncos, but against a weaker secondary like Miami, he’s been dominant.

This is the type of Green we’ve grown accustomed to seeing, and it’s the Green that we’re all partial to.
