Chiefs interested in free agent guard Evan Mathis?

Andy Reid already upgraded his line with one former Pro Bowler this offseason.

Might he look to add another with ties back to his Philadelphia days?

The Chiefs could be in the running for ex-Eagle Evan Mathis, according to ESPN's John Clayton. Clayton also lists the Colts, 49ers, and Dolphins as potential suitors for the talented guard.

Kansas City has less than $400,000 in cap room, so they might not be able to match those three other teams. But the Chiefs offer Mathis a chance to reunite with Reid and team up with fellow star guard Ben Grubbs.

If it happens, the Chiefs could be looking at their best line since the early 2000's. Mathis is a two-time Pro Bowler and a former All-Pro who would move people out of Jamaal Charles' way.
