Chiefs cut an Andy Reid favorite to get roster to 75-player limit

Andy Reid had to bid farewell to one of his favorite receivers on cut-down day.

Junior Hemingway, who starred in the first year of the Reid regime, was chopped as the roster shrunk to 75 players. The Michigan product was lauded for his catching and blocking ability, but couldn't stay healthy enough to keep.

Jason Avant and De'Anthony Thomas rose up to claim Hemingway's old slot spot. He was expendable, along with these other Chiefs roster cuts:

WR Kenny Cook

OT Anthony Dima

LS Andrew East

CB Aaron Hester

DL Vaughn Martin

CB Kenneth Penny

G Marcus Reed

OL Tavon Rooks

TE Adam Schiltz

WR Jeret Smith

OL Charles Tuaau

WR L'Damian Washington.

The Chiefs also placed QB Tyler Bray on the non-football injury list and LB Justin March on IR.
