Chicago Bears' John Fox praises 'smart' ILB Shea McClellin

It has been a rough ride for Shea McClellin through three NFL seasons. As he heads into his fourth year in the league, the former first-round pick is also undergoing his third positional shift.

McClellin's efforts aren't going unnoticed by head coach Jon Fox, though.

"I think he's a smart, young player," Fox said about McClellin, per Kevin Fishbain of Chicago Football. "I think he's been moved around. I think he's been in some different systems. I think he's adapted pretty well. We'll get to see where that goes when we get to training camp and when we conclude this camp"

McClellin started his NFL career at defensive end, then moved to strong-side linebacker last year. Now, he's making the defensive calls from his new inside linebacker position, according to Chicago Football. The Boise State product has yet to play a full season and has never started more than 10 games.
