Chargers special teams coach is really excited about Jacoby Jones
General manager Tom Telesco wanted to give the Bolts a more dynamic third phase this offseason.
He sure delivered by adding Jacoby Jones. And no one is more excited about the Chargers' new weapon than special team's coach Kevin Spencer.
"When I first saw him I was like, '"Holy smokes!,'" Spencer said. "He always dressed out big, but he is a big person and still runs very, very well. He knows what his job is, and he knows what he gets paid to do and help his team."
Jones will take home a significant paycheck each week to deliver the type of electric returns he did for his last team in Baltimore. Spencer says the 30-year-old Jones still "has a lot of gas left in the tank."
Now, he just needs the 10 other special teamers to open a hole for his new return man.
"They can’t just think we will roll No. 12’s helmet out there and we’ll be successful," he said. "The other 10 guys have to hold up their end of the bargain."
