Chargers sign ILB Kevin Bentley

The San Diego Chargers have signed inside linebacker Kevin Bentley to a one-year deal.

The signing Wednesday is an insurance move in case Stephen Cooper can't play due to a torn right biceps. Cooper, hurt in Sunday night's exhibition win at Dallas, returned to practice on Wednesday and hopes to play in Saturday night's game at Arizona.

Bentley is a 10-year veteran who played with Houston last year.
