Chargers' Gates, Rivers get into it on sideline during loss

It’s been a nightmare season for the San Diego Chargers, and things appear to be getting even worse.

The team brought a 2-7 record into Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and had a miserable first half, where they were outgained in total yardage 254-91.

It appears the team’s struggles on offense had an effect on its players.

Antonio Gates’ frustration boiled over on the sidelines in the second quarter of the game when he got into it with Philip Rivers. It sure looked like Gates said “I’m gonna beat your a——” to the team’s quarterback.

Gates probably just got caught up in the moment, as the two players are friends and have hooked up for plenty of touchdowns over the years. But the fact remains that the Chargers are underperforming and it’s clearly having an effect on the team’s players.
