Chargers' Franklin: Rivers is 'more approachable' than Peyton
This just in: Peyton Manning can be tough to work with.
It's no secret in NFL circles that 'The Sheriff' can be difficult -- even coach-like. Maybe that's why former teammate Orlando Franklin said it's much easier to get along with his current QB -- Philip Rivers.
"One thing I noticed immediately when I got here is that Phillip Rivers is definitely more approachable than Peyton,” the Chargers guard told ProFootballTalk. “I don’t know if it was because I was a lot younger being that I met Peyton in my second season and now meeting Phillip going into my fifth season but definitely I will say Phillip is more approachable than Peyton.”
Chargers QB Philip Rivers isn't known for his sociability, though. His sour sideline faces and argumentative nature have led many to label him as a bit of a jerk.
Franklin doesn't seem to mind Rivers' abrasive attitude. He's a Charger now, and of course he'll take sides with the player he's blocking for.
