Chargers blocked from talking to one promising NFL assistant

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don't want teams talking to defensive line coach Joe Cullen.

So, they've blocked the San Diego Chargers from talking to their promising assistant about any openings, according to FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo. 

Cullen was one of only two assistants retained from the Lovie Smith regime. He's maximized a Buccaneers pass rush, despite lacking talent there.

That's exactly the kind of coach a talent-poor Chargers staff would need. But curiously, the Bucs blocked Cullen from interviewing after they fired his now-former boss.

Cullen must have great value in Tampa Bay to be denied opportunities elsewhere.
