Chad Greenway named Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee Crew 52 Captain

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway will lead up ‘Crew 52’ with the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee to prepare for Super Bowl 52 in Minneapolis.

With this weekend featuring a Super Bowl 51 matchup between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons in Houston, the Minnesota Vikings as well as the state of Minnesota are preparing for their turn to host the festivities next year.

U.S. Bank Stadium will play host to Super Bowl 52, but there is a lot to be done to get ready for the massive event. The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee are already hard at work to prepare for the game, and that means working with the Vikings to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.

The official Minnesota Vikings website announced Crew 52, which will be captained by linebacker Chad Greenway. Not only is it fitting because he wears the #52 jersey for the team, but because of all the great things he has contributed to the community as well as the organization over the years.

Recently, Greenway talked about the position:

This weekend’s Super Bowl 51 will kick off Hand-Off Week where Houston will pass the hosting duties on to Minnesota, culminating in a rally at the Mall of America where Vikings players and community officials will be on hand.

Despite receiving this honor, Greenway’s future is still up in the air when it comes to returning to the team for the 2017 season, but he had some reassuring words to say for fans of the franchise on Vikings.com:

Congratulations to Chad Greenway on the massive honor of being the captain of Crew 52 and representing Minnesota as well as the Vikings and the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee at Super Bowl 52.
