Cardinals GM Steve Keim is always looking for the underdogs

Arizona Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim is not one of those GM's who thinks you need to go to a big school to be successful in the NFL. In fact, Keim prefers to go with small school players who may be considered underdogs.

Keim recently completed an interview with the team's official website where he talked about Jared Veldheer, a free agent he signed out of Hillsdale College.

"All his life, to some degree, he was always overlooked," Keim said, via NFL.com. "To me, you sign a guy like that in free agency and he's still got that chip on his shoulder, that hunger and that passion."

Veldheer is not the only guy on the roster who comes from a small school. Wide receiver John Brown, who has become a key player for the Cardinals comes from Pittsburg State.

Every GM in the NFL has their own philosophy about what kind of players they would like to have on their team. Keim prefers the type of player with something to prove, while other GMs may prefer the experience of playing at a high level program.
