Calvin Johnson wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Detroit Lions' 37-34, overtime win against the Chicago Bears in Week 6.

Johnson finished with a season-high 166 yards on six catches. His longest reception went for 57 yards; he also caught a six-yard touchdown to give the Lions a three-point lead late in the fourth quarter. It was a vintage performance for the monster pass-catcher known as Megatron.

Johnson, 30, is in his ninth NFL season after the Lions drafted him second overall in 2007. He's on pace for his sixth consecutive 1,000-yard season, as he currently leads the team with 488 yards on 38 receptions (two touchdowns).

This most recent NFC Player of the Week honor was the fourth of Johnson's career.
