Calvin Johnson responds to Peanut Tillman's awesome Megatron tribute video

After dueling twice a year for eight seasons in the NFC North from 2007-14, both wideout Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions and longtime Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman announced their retirements from the NFL this past offseason.

Peanut was no peanut at 6-foot-2, 198 pounds, but like every cornerback in the league, he struggled to contain the 6-foot-5, 240 pound Megatron. And as Tillman humorously notes in this NFL Films tribute to the wideout-turned-Dancing With the Stars contestant, Tillman got the better of Johnson on several occasions:

Johnson caught wind of the tribute and responded in a letter he posted to Facebook on Tuesday:

Johnson would certainly have no shortage of material if he narrated a Tillman tribute: over the ball hawker's 13-year career he forced a whopping 44 fumbles, mostly with his "Peanut punch," and also nabbed 38 interceptions.

Score one for sportsmanship and mutual respect.
