Bucs draft DE William Gholston in 4th round

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Michigan State defensive end William Gholston in the fourth round of the NFL draft.

Retooling a porous pass defense is the team's biggest priority this offseason, and the Bucs have used four of their first five picks in the draft to reshape the secondary and bolster the defensive line.

Gholston was the 126th selection overall. Tampa Bay moved up 12 spots earlier Saturday to make Illinois defensive tackle Akeem Spence the 100th overall selection.

In addition to swapping positions with Oakland in the fourth round, Tampa Bay sent one of its two sixth-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for the opportunity to take Spence.

The 6-foot-7, 278-pound Gholston had 30 tackles for losses, including 10 sacks, during his college career.
