Browns QB Manziel placed on IR; Hughlett signed, Hughes activated
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 21.
Manziel started in two games this season, completing 18 of 35 passes for 175 yards and adding nine rushes for 29 yards.
The move was one of several announced by the Browns on Wednesday.
The team also signed long snapper Charley Hughlett to the active roster from Kansas City's practice squad and activated defensive lineman John Hughes (knee) from injured reserve-designated for return. Defensive lineman Ishmaa'ily Kitchen was also placed on injured reserve with a leg injury.
Hughes suffered a medial collateral ligament injury on Oct. 26 in the game against Oakland. He has two starts and has 10 tackles in four games this season. Kitchen, like Manziel, was injured during the game against the Panthers on Dec. 21.
