Broncos CB Aqib Talib practiced for the first time since he was shot

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib, who suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg in early June, on Monday went through his first practice since that injury.

Talib, a Pro Bowl selection each of the past three seasons, was in a Dallas park June 5 when a witness said he found Talib on the ground and took him to the hospital, according to police. The bullet, fired by an “unknown suspect” entered Talib’s right thigh and exited his right calf.

Dallas police and the NFL are continuing to investigate the incident, and Talib had been on the non-football injury list until Monday. The team will work him back slowly to avoid injury, according to the Denver Post.

That said, he reportedly was moving well Monday, which is just what the Broncos’ top ranked defense needs.
