Brett Favre reveals accomplishment he's most proud of

Brett Favre entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday with scores of NFL records under his belt. And the one he's most proud of, he holds not because he was "The Gunslinger," but because he was an iron man.

Breaking Minnesota Vikings great Jim Marshall's record for consecutive starts was his proudest accomplishment, Favre told NFL Network's Steve Mariucci before Saturday's ceremony. Favre started 321 straight games, including 24 in the playoffs, from 1992 to 2010.

Marshall, a fearsome defensive end, started 289 straight from 1961 to 1979. A member of the "Purple People Eaters", he played in four Super Bowls and two Pro Bowls, recovered 30 fumbles and his 127 sacks rank second in Vikings history. But he's been a finalist for the Hall of Fame only once and has yet to get in.

“I try not to think about things like that,” Marshall told the Talk of Fame Network. “That’s out of my hands. If it happens, it would be the greatest thing in the world for me. It would be a climax to my career as an athlete to go out on top like that, and, of course, I would just love it.

“But I try never to think about it. And when I’m reminded of it by others I try to let it slip through my brain. … You worry about things that you have no control over (and) it can cause you to slowly deteriorate.”
