Brett Favre once tricked Aaron Rodgers into signing his own helmet
Pranks are not uncommon in NFL locker rooms. Some are better than others, and this one Brett Favre pulled on Aaron Rodgers when they were both with the Green Bay Packers might be the best.
With Favre back in town this week, Rodgers shared a story from his days as a backup (2005-2007). According to ESPN's Jason Wilde, Favre snatched Rodgers' helmet without him knowing and set it up like a replica on a table with some markers for everyone to sign. The players are asked to sign pieces of equipment for charities and collections all the time, so no one would have thought to take a closer look at this helmet -- not even its owner.
"Everybody signed it, and I had to go down to practice with [it]," Rodgers recalled, per ESPN. "Everybody had signed it, including myself, on my own helmet."
Rodgers, who didn't have the greatest relationship with Favre while they were teammates, says this type of behavior was pretty typical of the wily veteran.
"You just had to watch yourself sometimes around him because [he was] always trying to incite some pranks," Rodgers said, via ESPN. "So you had to be careful."
It has been eight years since Rodgers and Favre were last teammates. They'll be on the same field this Thursday, when Favre visits Lambeau Field for his No. 4 jersey retirement celebration during the Packers' Thanksgiving clash with the Chicago Bears.
