Brees on life after football: 'Could see myself involved' in politics

Fans of the New Orleans Saints don't have to worry yet. Drew Brees isn't ready to hang it up anytime soon, nor is he ready to even start thinking about life after football at this point. Even with that said though, when asked about it in a recent interview with FOX 8's Juan Kincaid, Brees had an idea of something he may do after his NFL career.

As reported by Jeremy Warnemuende of 247Sports, Brees could potentially see himself getting into politics at some point.

"My mind is not even close to being there," Brees said in a recent interview with Fox 8's Juan Kincaid. "At some point, am I no longer going to be playing football? Yeah, at some point. But I'm not thinking about that time right now."

"I don't know about what aspects of politics," said Brees, who appeared to have given the idea some through before, "but I could see myself involved in it at some point potentially. There are so many things I want to do, and I'm certainly not closing the door on anything. When I evaluate whatever it's going to be, it's No. 1, do I have a passion for it? No. 2, do I feel like I could make a difference? That's really the things I would look at whenever I would evaluate an opportunity like that."

Seeing Brees involved in politics somewhere down the line would definitely be interesting. Obviously, Saints fans are hoping that he doesn't have to make that decision for quite a few more years, as they aren't ready to lose their star just yet.
