Brandon Marshall: 'I am going down in the boat with Ryan Fitzpatrick'

Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw three interceptions in a 27–17 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, a week after throwing six against the Chiefs.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who publicly advocated for the re-signing of Fitzpatrick in free agency this off-season, was adamant in supporting the veteran after his latest poor performance.

“I am going down in the boat with Ryan Fitzpatrick,” Marshall said, according to NJ.com. “OK? You got it? Can you not ask my any more questions about it? I am going down in the boat with No. 14.”

Earlier in the day, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that if Fitzpatrick had “another disasterbacle” like he did in Kansas City, that there may be discussions about backup Geno Smith taking over under center.

The boat is sinking quickly—Fitzpatrick is on pace to throw 16 touchdowns against 40 interceptions. While it’s not likely those are his totals, the past two games have been alarming for New York.
