Bobby Wagner and Kam Chancellor praised by NFL.com as top tacklers

The Seattle Seahawks are known for not only having one of the best defenses in the NFL, but for also being one of the most physical defenses in the entire league. Head coach Pete Carroll takes pride in wrapping up defenders and not letting them gain those extra yards.

NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks ranked the top five tacklers in the NFL and had two Seahawks make the list. Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner ranked No. 2, while safety Kam Chancellor came in at No. 3 on the list.

“The intimidation factor created by Chancellor’s combination of size, speed, power and pop changes the way players and coaches approach their match ups with the NFL’s top defense,” Brooks wrote of the the safety.

Chancellor has another stellar season in 2014, despite playing hurt for much of the year. Chancellor finished the year with 80 solo tackles.

Wagner finished the year with 83 solo tackles in just 11 games. Wagner is an abolsute stud on the defensive side of the ball, having a knack for where the ball is going and rarely missing any tackles.

“The energetic playmaker has superb instincts, awareness and diagnostic skills,” Brooks wrote, “but his physicality, toughness and tenacity are what set him apart from most others at the position.”

The top spot on the list went to Carolina Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly, with Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy and Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavote David rounding out the top five.
