Bills rushing attack makes history, finishes No. 1 in NFL

The Buffalo Bills made a conscious effort to improve the rushing attack in the offseason. They brought in Tyrod Taylor during free agency, traded for LeSean McCoy, signed guard Richie Incognito and drafted Karlos Williams to help that aspect of the offense.

Incredibly, it didn't cost the team much to acquire those players, and it worked out as well as it possibly could have. Despite having to overcome injuries to key players, the Bills still managed to finish with the league's best rushing offense (2,432 yards), and also led the NFL with an average of 4.8 yards per carry.

Additionally, the Bills had three players with more than 500 rushing yards -- the first time they've done that since 1962. McCoy led the team with 895 yards on the ground, followed by Taylor (568) and Williams (517). Mike Gillislee also added 267 yards of his own late in the year and helped the offense when McCoy went down with a knee injury.

It's amazing the Bills were able to accomplish all of this with McCoy, Williams and Taylor missing time throughout the year. It's a testament to the depth Rex Ryan and the front office built on offense, giving them the ability to plug in seemingly any player and have success on the ground.
