Bills reportedly won't pick up option on former 1st-rounder EJ Manuel

Three years after taking him in the first round of the draft, the Buffalo Bills reportedly have declined to pick up the fifth-year option on quarterback EJ Manuel, according to multiple reports.

Manuel, who was taken with the 16th pick in 2013, started 10 games as a rookie but only two last year, when Tyrod Taylor was injured. Manuel's passing numbers have decreased in each of his three years with the Bills.

Buffalo signed Taylor to a two-year deal in 2015, leaving Manuel's position on the roster in question. Manuel has thrown for 3,371 yards with 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in his career.
