Bills OC denies rumors E.J. Manuel could be cut after camp

With the Buffalo Bills gearing up for a three-headed quarterback competition this summer, the status of former first-round pick EJ Manuel seems to be up in the air.

Reports earlier this week indicated that Manuel’s job and longevity in Buffalo could be in jeopardy if he fails to light it up during training camp.

Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman is now denying that there is any validity to those rumors.

"It couldn't be further from the truth," Roman stated, via a tweet from Bills beat writer Matthew Fairburn.

When asked if there was a leader for the team’s starting job, Roman responded: “I think it’s too early to say there is a leader at QB right now.”

It appears that Manuel will be on even ground with veterans Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor, all of whom split first-team reps during team activities last month.

Roman did say he would have a better feel for who might be in the lead once the team’s OTA’s are finished.
