Bill O'Brien: 'Hard Knocks' won't change anything we do

Bill O'Brien has never seen 'Hard Knocks,' but the Houston Texans head coach is confident the slew of cameras documenting the team won't change the way training camp is conducted.

While some players, like star defensive end J.J. Watt, indicated they'd rather focus solely on football, O'Brien told reporters Monday he doesn't believe the show will have a negative impact on the team.

“We’re going to go about our business the way we always do. We’re not changing for anything,” O’Brien said, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. “I think that when you look at ‘Hard Knocks,’ it’s an opportunity for people to see that this is a team, that this is not a team of individuals. … Hopefully the show is able to give examples and show us as a team, a disciplined, smart football team. That’s what we’re looking forward to as it relates to ‘Hard Knocks.’

O'Brien also said Houston is in search of a new team to practice against during camp. The New Orleans Saints were originally set to work out with the Texans, but dropped out, in part because of 'Hard Knocks.'

"We’re working on another team and we’ll see how that goes,” O’Brien said. “Every day in this league as a head football coach and as a player, different things come up. It’s this, it’s that or it’s something else. You’ve got to be able to adapt, you’ve got to be able to be flexible.”
