Bengals TE Tyler Eifert misses practice Wednesday

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert was not on the practice field Wednesday as he recovers from the concussion he suffered Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Eifert still sits atop the league in receiving touchdowns with 12 despite playing just one quarter Sunday and missing the week before with a neck stinger. Eifert will have to pass the league's concussion protocol in order to play Sunday against San Francisco.

The Bengals could certainly use Eifert's services, considering that AJ McCarron will start at quarterback after Andy Dalton broke his right thumb last Sunday. If Eifert is unable to play, rookie Tyler Kroft will likely get the start as he did in Week 13 against Cleveland.

Cornerback Adam Jones, who sat out the loss to Pittsburgh with a cast on his foot, was back at practice Wednesday, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer, but a handful of players were sidelined.
