Fales was a sixth-round pick out of San Jose State last year and spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad. He started in the Bears' preseason finale this summer and posted an impressive 134.0 passer rating.
The Bears will move forward with Jay Cutler as the starting quarterback and Jimmy Clausen as his backup.
