Bears agree to terms with Vereen, Fales
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with safety Brock Vereen and QB David Fales on four-year contracts.
Vereen was selected by Chicago in the fourth round of the draft out of Minnesota.
As a senior in 2013, he was selected All-Big Ten Conference first team by the league's coaches.
Fales was selected in the sixth round after starting all 25 games as San Jose State's quarterback over the past two seasons (2012-13). He completed 639 of 938 passes (68.1 percent) for 8,382 yards, 66 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He was one of only two quarterbacks in the FBS to pass for more than 4,000 yards in each of the past two seasons, along with Fresno State's David Carr.
Vereen and Fales are the first 2014 draft picks to agree to terms with their respective team.
