Banged-up Seahawks sign former 1st-round pick C.J. Spiller

The Seattle Seahawks added some depth at running back, signing former first-round pick C.J. Spiller on Wednesday.

The Seahawks are in need of depth at running back, with Thomas Rawls limited by a fibula injury and rookie C.J. Prosise slowed by an injured hand. Spiller should provide some insurance and take some of the burden off starter Christine Michael.

Spiller was released earlier this month by the Saints after playing only 13 games with the organization. The former first-round pick has been limited by a number of injuries during his seven-year career.

Spiller has run for more than 1,000 yards once in his career (1,244 in 2012) while with the Bills.
