Are the Denver Broncos concerned about Paxton Lynch?
Recent reports have emerged that the Denver Broncos are concerned about Paxton Lynch starting. At least, that’s what Jason Cole says…
Are the Denver Broncos concerned about Paxton Lynch? That’s what Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole said in a recent ‘Insider Buzz’ segment.
In fact, the headline reads that the Broncos have ‘major’ concerns about Lynch possibly having to start this weekend instead of Trevor Siemian. He cited the reason for the Broncos’ concern about Lynch being his lost focus on pass plays downfield after the pocket broke down.
Cole suggests that the Broncos — should they need Lynch to start this weekend — will use a lot of quick release pass plays to get him in a rhythm.
Of course, these ‘reports’ are months apart, but I want you to look at two headlines from the same NFL insider, about the same player.
This is obviously the difference of more than six months, but this is the same ‘insider’ talking about the #Broncos opinions of P.Lynch pic.twitter.com/NiKV1j2DLX

I can’t imagine that the Broncos are truly that concerned about Lynch starting a game after seeing how well he did against Tampa Bay when he had to come in relief of Siemian a few weeks back. Of course, his performance against Atlanta the following week was poor, and didn’t exactly inspire the type of confidence we’d all hoped it would when Lynch took the field for his first NFL start, but has he since regressed?
Is he not getting any better?
That would seem to be the assumption we’re led to make here, if the Broncos are truly ‘concerned’ about putting him on the field…
After the way Trevor Siemian played on Sunday against the Chiefs, it seems more likely that the Broncos would be concerned about his injury rather than concerned about putting their first round draft pick out on the field with a chance to win an important game, but maybe I’m wrong about that.
Paxton Lynch is a young quarterback. He’s not flawless at this point, but there’s a ton of talent there and obviously I’m not around Broncos practices on a daily basis, but I find it a little hard to believe that anyone in Denver is shaking in their boots at the thought of him taking the field Sunday.
