Alfred Morris to get more carries in Week 4
By Brett Conway
After having 25 rushes for 121 yards in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, Alfred Morris’ touches have gone down every week since. Which comes at a bit of a surprise, but Matt Jones saw more touches in Weeks 2 and 3.
In Week 3, the Redskins passed a lot instead of running the ball after falling behind early; the run game was nonexistent after that. Morris only had six rushes for 19 yards against the Giants.
The Redskins will never win football games like that. They are a run first team even if they fall behind early. Jay Gruden cannot abandon the gameplan and put all the weight of winning the game on Kirk Cousins shoulders.
A huge key for the Washington Redskins success against the Philadelphia Eagles will be to run the ball. Even if they fall behind early to the Eagles, they still need to run the ball.
Running the ball is the only way the Redskins offense has rhythm, and can be productive.
Let's just all hope Jay Gruden doesn’t back out of his word again, and run the ball early and often with Alfred Morris this Sunday against the Eagles.
Alfred Morris is one of the best running backs in the NFL, so why not use him as often as you can?
