Aldon Smith showed the Raiders his old All-Pro form

Oakland gave Aldon Smith yet another chance at redemption when they signed him last month.

The Chicago Bears found out why. On Sunday, the former All-Pro defensive end had his finest game as a Raider: one sack, six solo tackles, and a batted down pass.

"He's starting to get back to the Aldon of old," teammate Justin Tuck told Bay Area News Group's Jimmy Durkin. "We expect great things from Aldon."

Don't expect Smith to speak on his own development anytime soon, though. The troubled pass rusher is keeping a low profile after countless legal woes.

He's scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday for an August DUI arrest. A league suspension could soon follow -- but Smith is proving he's worth keeping around.
