Ahh, memories: Reliving the incredible story of Brett Favre

Back in 1992, the Green Bay Packers traded for a little-known quarterback named Brett Favre.

Three MVP awards, a Super Bowl win and several NFL records later, Favre made his long-awaited return to Lambeau Field on Saturday night. The legendary signal-caller was in the building to have his iconic No. 4 jersey retired and to be inducted in the Packers Hall of Fame.

With more than 67,000 Cheeseheads cheering his every word, Favre thanked the fans for all the memories and the good times.

"I want you to know I celebrate this with you. We did it together," he said.

And the gravity of the moment clearly dawned on Favre while standing on the grass where he spent the majority of his career.

So, on this most special of days, let's take a look back at some of the memorable moments from a most interesting career.

1. WINS AND LOSSES

From directing the Packers past the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI to that ill-fated interception against the New Orleans Saints — while quarterbacking the Vikings — in the 2010 NFC Championship Game, Favre has seen it all. James Carlton takes us through the list right here.

2. TOP PASSES AND INTERCEPTIONS

Favre directed countless last-minute touchdown drives. He also had a knack for throwing across his body while on the run that cost him — many times. Let's look back at the glory and gaffes right here.

3. TOP QUOTES AND CRIES

The man could get emotional. And he loved to talk. Sometimes he would do both at the same time. Grab a tissue because you'll want to read what's coming right here.

4. TOP CHALLENGES AND RETIREMENTS

Sometimes it takes a few tries before getting it right. Favre tried to give up the game more than once, but always seemed to change his mind and come back for a little more. We're pretty sure he's retired now ... but can you ever be sure? Let's turn back the clock on those moments of indecision right here.

5. AMAZING AND EMBARRASSING MOMENTS

Well, let's just say there have been plenty of both and we'll leave it at that. You might cringe a couple of times right here.

6. IMPRESSIVE AND IGNOMIOUS STATISTICS

Remember how we mentioned that Favre holds the NFL record for career touchdown passes AND interceptions? That pretty much sums up his feast-or-famine style of play. No wonder people called him The Gunslinger. Here is a six-shooter's worth of cool stats right here.

7. AND, HE IS A FIRST-BALLOT HALL OF FAMER

Saturday, Feb. 6, it was announced that Favre was a member of the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. First go-round, too.
