Agent: Rams sign DE Robert Quinn to four-year extension
The St. Louis Rams locked up one of the many centerpieces to their defense on Saturday.
Defensive end Robert Quinn signed a four-year, $66.575 million extension with $41.2 million guaranteed, Quinn's agent Tony Fleming confirmed to FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The deal ties the Pro Bowl defensive end to the Rams through the 2019 season. Yahoo! Sports reported Friday night the sides were closing in on an agreement and ESPN first reported the numbers Saturday.
Quinn, who was set to earn a base salary of $1.6 million this season, led the Rams with 19 sacks in 2013.
With defensive end Chris Long being placed on the short-term injured reserve, the Rams continued to bolster their defensive line for the long term.
