Aaron Rodgers gives hilarious reason why his latest Lambeau leap was 'great'

Aaron Rodgers was magnificent Saturday in the Green Bay Packers’ fifth consecutive win, completing 28 of 38 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings.

A ridiculous performance by any measure. But as great as he was on the field, the Pro Bowl quarterback might have had the quote of the day.

Rodgers, who added a rushing touchdown to his outstanding stat line, explained to reporters what was going through his head when he pulled off his Lambeau leap, a rarity for the 33-year-old who has been battling a calf injury.

“It’s been a long time since I got a Lambeau leap,” Rodgers said. “And in the back of my mind I was thinking this is going to be on the highlight tape next week so make sure you get all the way up there.

“So I went to the Jordy Nelson school of Lambeau leaps and was able to get up there and the fans were great.”

Then Rodgers dropped this doozy.

“They smelled a little bit like booze, which was great.”

Maybe this was Packers fans’ way of keeping warm.
