49ers' Hyde misses first practice of season due to ailing foot
Running back Carlos Hyde was a notable absence at practice Wednesday for the San Francisco 49ers.
Hyde missed his first practice of the season due to a foot injury, although he was not mentioned by coach Jim Tomsula as a possibility to sit out during his briefing with the media earlier in the day.

The second-year running back has been one of the few indispensable players for San Francisco, which will attempt to halt a four-game losing streak against the visiting Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Coming off his best game since a sensational season opener, Hyde rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's 30-27 setback at the New York Giants. With backup Reggie Bush also missing practice with a calf injury, former Australian rugby player Jarryd Hayne received the first-team reps Wednesday.
Ahmad Brooks remained away from the team to attend the funeral of his sister but his agent, Gregory R. Williams, told CSNBayArea.com that the linebacker intends to return to the area to play versus the Ravens.
