Wizards' Wall practices again, still not sure if he'll play Game 5

ATLANTA -- John Wall's status for Wednesday night's Game 5 against Atlanta is still unclear.

The Washington Wizards All-Star point guard practiced his dribbling for the second straight day, but said he doesn't know if he'll play against the Hawks.

Wall has missed three straight games since suffering five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand.

The Wizards practiced at Georgia Tech on Wednesday morning with a black curtain covering the glass doors to the gym. Wall said he did "a little more dribbling" and also took some hits to the hand to test the pain. He said he has "a very high pain threshold."

Wall said he plans to again test his wrist and hand and consult with team doctors before Wednesday night's game.

"See how I can make moves with the dribble," he said. "That's the key, being able to make moves that I feel comfortable with, that I'm used to making."

Wizards coach Randy Wittman said Wall did nothing significantly different than in Tuesday's practice.

"Just the stuff that he did yesterday," Wittman said. "We'll see where he is."

Wall had a wrap on his left hand Wednesday that included a protective pad. He was listed as questionable on Tuesday's injury report.

"It's a matter of do I feel confident," Wall said. "You can be comfortable no matter what, but if you're not confident in your ability to do what you want to do, there's no point in playing.

"Hopefully I can get some more work in before the game to see where my mindset is and how confident I feel in it because I don't want to be out there and not be any help. ... If I can't go out there and be confident and be myself, I don't want to take away from the way the team has been playing."

The Hawks and Wizards are tied 2-2 in the best-of-seven series. Washington is 1-2 without Wall.
