Wilson Chandler Holds On To Another Big One As The Denver Nuggets Land A Win Against The Milwaukee Bucks, 121-117
Wilson Chandler’s giant Grouper. Against the Bucks Friday night, Wilson got another big one with a win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Earlier this year, Denver Nuggets small forward Wilson Chandler caught a huge Grouper while doing some ocean fishing. This picture caught national attention. Friday night Will the Thrill caught another big one. Chandler fished with a team high 23 points with 8 rebounds and 41 minutes of playing time.
This was a great team effort for the Denver Nuggets with Nikola Jokic returning to captain the boat and landing his first triple double: 20 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists in 32 minutes.
After Denver was leading by 22 points in the third quarter, the big one almost got away; the Bucks were difficult to reel in. They fought until the end and got within one.

But the Nuggets are learning how to hold on to the line from the experiences they had early on. Let’s hope the line isn’t breaking on these fish anymore!
Besides Nikola’s returning and delivering a spectacular game, Wilson was also a center of attention.
Earlier there were rumors that Chandler was unhappy with the inconsistency in his playing and that he might want to be traded. He later said that he wasn’t unhappy over all, just with how he fit in the game management.
This may be an initiative toward negotiation for the 29 year old to be provided his worth or may truly be a reflection of the inconsistency in the development of this young but dynamic team. Maybe he is looking to contribute somewhere else. He certainly is a jewel on the Nuggets team.
Wilson Chandler has no fear. He dunked and blocked budding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Wilson Chandler Going Fishing For Another Team?
Friday night, in the absence of Danilo Gallinari who was resting with a groin injury, Wilson was asked to deliver and was given 41 minutes court time to prove the relationship with he and Denver was one that was solid.
He did not shoot that well, 5-14 overall and 0-5 on threes, but had a game high +11 due to his 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 steals. Chandler had a dunk and block on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Does he really want to give up his six year relationship with this team? Does he realize he is coveted in Denver, a city which loves him and that he and his family loves? Does he realize that the team is on the cusp of moving on up with a couple of potential All-Stars and that he is an integral part?
Chandler may be worth more money as will his long-time teammate Danilo Gallinari. They both have been injury prone, but seem to know how to take care of themselves at this point.
They can possibly get more money elsewhere. But they can also get more money with the Denver Nuggets. Both are veterans and will be thinking about the third and final five years of a healthy 15 year NBA stint. That’s reasonable and commendable.
But, as Chandler says, though he is not unhappy with the team, “Whatever happens, happens.”
This is true; the NBA is a business with assets to be distributed. But at this point Wilson still drives his boat and there are many personal things that need to be considered.
Some inconsistency in a budding terrific young team is to be expected as the best synergy between players is determined throughout the season. Coach Mike Malone has done a good job since installing Jokic as the Nuggets center. And the record shows it. Budding star Jamal Murray and the others are and will be coming along.
Does Wilson want to give all this up and ‘hope’ for something better? Or does he want to grow and mentor these great youngsters. It’s up to him.

The One That Almost Got Away
Tough victory for the Nuggets Friday night. East vs.West. Same record with two teams, 21 wins, 27 losses. Nuggets 9th in the West going in; Milwaukee 10th in the East. Young teams with a budding superstar.
Jokic vs. Antetokounmpo. Great match-up. Incredible athlete vs. incredible skills.
More from Nugg Love
Antetokounmpo: 23 points, 5 assists, 8 rebounds, 69% from the field, 35 minutes, minus 13.
Jokic: 20 points, 11 assists, 13 rebounds, 75% from the field, 32 minutes, plus 8.
Who should be the All-Star? Who makes the team better?
Let’s not forget Kenneth Faried’s contribution with another double-double, 19 points and 11 boards. His competition, the young Buck, Jabari Parker, is going to be a bear in the future. He put in 27 points and 11 boards.
Jamal Murray and Darrell Arthur also played great. Darrell, the Nuggets consummate professional showed the results of his work ethic knocking down more threes. Keep it up!
Maybe Aldridge can’t be stopped, but neither can Jokic be stopped. We’ll see Saturday night.
The Denver Nuggets Can Beat San Antonio
On a back-to-back, Denver now faces the indomitable San Antonio Spurs Saturday night. This is a big fish.
If the Nuggets can carry that positive fight from Friday they can scare or even beat the Spurs. But they cannot turn the ball over and they have to emphasize their strengths and play their defensive game better than they have this entire year.
Pace, rebounding, movement, aggressiveness, and everything Nikola Jokic does. Do not play the Spurs game; do not get down more than 8 or10. Do not slow down. Up on your man at all times. Switch effectively.
The Nuggets have 8 players averaging double figures in scoring. Unselfishness. Passing. Of course defense. Easier said than done.
They have got to contain Kawhi Leonard.
Chandler, this looks like you can show what a defensive player you really are. And what you are worth. Get help and double up on him when necessary.
Jamal Murray, this is a great test. Are you able to play against champions? Bring that confident shot from the get go.
Kenneth Faried, no one can match you on the Spurs. Bring it like you always do.
When the Nuggets get down and they will, coach Malone must make timely adjustments to get it back under control. Time management is critical as this is a back-to-back.
Then there is Nikola Jokic.
Let’s see if the team can make the Denver Nuggets fans proud.
