Westbrook's latest triple-double taken away by NBA

The NBA employees who wear the suits and watch videotape have finally done what seemingly no one wearing a uniform and dribbling the ball has been able to do all season.

Stop Russell Westbrook from getting a triple-double.

A day after the Thunder point guard and MVP contender recorded his 10th triple-double of the season, the league made a statistical change that knocked Westbrook’s season total back down to nine.

According to Fran Blinebury of the Hang Time Blog on NBA.com, after reviewing tape from Oklahoma City’s 93-75 win over the Miami Heat, the league ruled that Westbrook was incorrectly credited with a rebound and changed his stat line to 12 points, 17 assists and nine rebounds.

Westbrook, 26, is still averaging career highs in points (27.5, tops in the NBA), rebounds (7.3) and assists (8.7), as well as steals (2.2), as he has led the Thunder to a 2.5-game lead over Phoenix for the Western Conference’s final playoff spot despite reigning MVP Kevin Durant's having played only 27 games because of injury.
