Watch Russell Westbrook viciously dunk on DeMarcus Cousins to foul him out

While all the talk lately has been about the new-look New Orleans Pelicans, Russell Westbrook reminded everyone why he’s an MVP candidate Sunday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar racked up another triple-double – a feat that has become almost commonplace for the perennial All-Star – but Westbrook put an explosive exclamation point on Sunday’s 118-110 win late in the fourth quarter.

With less than three minutes left and the Thunder clinging to a one-point lead, Westbrook blew by Jrue Holiday and met DeMarcus Cousins at the rim, where Westbrook hammered on Cousins for an and-1 finish.

Westbrook, who picked up his 29th triple-double this season, scored 21 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter and added 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the win. The Pelicans are still winless since acquiring Cousins, who had 31 points and 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes, and Anthony Davis added 38 points in the loss.
