Watch Joel Embiid erupt after being benched in 2nd OT due to minutes limit
You can’t question Joel Embiid’s desire to play. After being forced to sit out his first two years due to a litany of injuries, the Philadelphia 76ers big man is finally starting his NBA career.
But despite being medically cleared to play, the Sixers have limited Embiid to around 20 minutes per game, and it’s become a point of frustration for the 7-footer. Embiid lost his cool Wednesday night, when he was told he had reached his minutes limit before the 76ers began their second overtime period with the Grizzlies.
The former No. 3 pick unleashed his anger on a chair, violently kicking it before pulling his jersey over his face.
Embiid finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and seven turnovers in 27 minutes in the 76ers’ 104-99 loss.
At least he had this highlight.
