Throughout the years, Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki has scored a whole lot of points. 28,547 of them, to be exact.

But there's something about that first 40-point game that's a little special, right?

Way back on May 14th in 2001, Nowitzki had his first 40-point game against Tim Duncan, David Robinson and the Spurs.
