WATCH: 76ers rookie Okafor gets into fight outside Boston bar

Philadelphia 76ers rookie center Jahlil Okafor got into a physical altercation with a heckler outside of a Boston bar Wednesday night, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

Okafor was reportedly at the Storyville Boston nightclub with some friends and an unnamed teammate following the 76ers' 84-80 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday night when words with another group of men turned physical.

According to the report, Okafor said he was being heckled from the moment he left the club and the altercation began after one man yelled, "The 76ers suck."

The video appears to show people attempting to hold Okafor back during an exchange of words before the 19-year-old broke free and swung wildly at another man.

TMZ reports that both parties left immediately after the incident.

The 76ers released a statement Thursday evening.

"We are aware of the report and we are currently working to gather additional information," the team said. "Until that time, we will have no further comment."

Former Duke player Okafor, the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, is averaging 18.4 points and 8.1 rebounds this season for the 76ers.
